MATH LEAGUE
The results have just been released for the 3rd Math League contest held at UW-Stevens Point. This is a tough math contest among 50 area schools that is sponsored by Sentry Insurance, Travel Guard, Liberty Mutual and the University. The teams compete three times a year and in four school sizes and three categories. Auburndale did an excellent job at this meet placing 2nd, just four points out of 1st place.
In the Geometry category, Amber Bottensek placed 1st and Anthony Altmann received the 3rd highest score. Samantha Wolf and Sara Smazal rounded out the team effort. In the Algebra category, Stacy Brokish placed 1st and Samantha Karl had the 9th highest score. Emma Stoflet and Ben Dorshorst helped with that team's effort. In the Advanced category, Jacob Dorshorst had the 4th highest score and Jacob Steltenpohl had the 5th highest score with Sandra Pumper having the 7th highest score. Rebecca Smazal helped bring the team along.
Overall, after the three meets, Auburndale's team was in 4th place, a very good effort on the part of the students. The team is coached by Mrs. Pat Johnson, Mrs. Lori Peeters and Mr. Jim Johnson.
AUBURNDALE ELEMENTARY FIELD DAY
The Elementary Field Day will be held Tuesday, May 25th with a rain date of Wednesday, May 26th. Aaarrr! Shiver me timbers, is it almost time for Field Day already?
